THE ARTIST / OWNER

Maria Morgan is a certified art teacher in Northern Virginia.  In high school, Maria spent her summers teaching art to children at various camps.  

In 1998, she earned her degree in fine arts and art history, with a minor in education from Lycoming College and Millersville University.  From there, she taught art for two years in Hershey, Pennsylvania and then moved to Northern Virginia where she spent five years teaching art for Loudoun County Public Schools.  

After getting married and having two children, Maria took a break from teaching, until her daughter entered kindergarten, and she learned that she could teach art enrichment at her school.  

She continued to teach there until both her daughter and son finished elementary school, and also began an all school art show where kids display their masterpieces each spring.  

The passion to teach art has never left her, and so began her dream to open Luna Art Studio!
